We decided to purchase a 5th Wheeler with Hauler truck.
The main reasons were;
The 5th wheeler is a complete home away from home with all the mod cons of a small house. It has a queen sized bed with ensuite being separate shower, toilet and vanity wash hand basin. The kitchen has duel sink, fridge/freezer, oven, hob top, pantry and lots of cupboard space and bench top area.
There is a dining area with seating for four. Then there is the sofa and two recliner chairs that face the entertainment centre being a 19″ T.V. and DVD player with surround sound.
There is a place for the lap top and we also have full internet connection via our moblie phones.
The when we set up the rig we can disengage the hauler (F250 full sized cab) and have a vehicle for local sightseeing and other activities.

Accessories
One of the most useful accessories we have is a pair of two way radios. They are inexpensive (about US$40 buys a good set) and they have a range of about two or three kilometers (1-2 miles). They are rechargable and easy to use.
We use them in lots of situations for example; when backing the vehicle while hitched up one of us stands to the rear and is able to give directions to the driver for accurate positioning of the rig. Then when packing up to leave it is handy to have one person giving instructions about moving the rig to remove the chocks and levellers. It certainly saves frantic hand waving and shouting.
Another use for the radios is when we are away on our mountain bikes. If we become separated for whatever reason then we can stay in contact over a reasonable distance and not worry about the other one. Of course, if one drops behind because of a puncture or a fall, then it’s very helpful to be able to call up the other.
Then again, we use them when in the large supermarkets. In this situation we can go off in different directions to gather in the shopping then have no trouble meeting up again between the aisles.
We’ve even used them with great success when travelling in convoy with another vehicle out on the road. Certainly saves a lot of cell phone calls and very dependable.
